In the issue of 21 July, I loved the interview of the super talented Aima Baig by Sameen Amer. In the same issue, the review of Allahyar and the 100 Flowers of God by Javeria Shakil-Kazim was also very good. Sidra Ramay’s informative article on the use and abuse of plastic was very pertinent. We all should make an effort to limit the use of plastic. All in all, a very good issue.

This year, summer is almost gone without the summer movies’ cover story by Fatima Zakir. I always wait for Fatima’s list of movies, so I was a little disappointed. It’s not that I can’t Google, really! It’s just the way Fatima writes very precisely about the movies in a funny manner, and I love her taste also. Ed, I am following both serialised stories in Us and would like to convey my appreciation for the writers, Iqra Asad and Asbah Waseem.

‘Psychology of colours’ by Tanzeela Ahmed was a very interesting story. Ed, I was also happy to see the interview of Masab Fazal Misri. The interviews of celebs are always welcome! Also, I have noticed a change in the Comic Relief’s content, and I like it. I especially enjoyed Twitter Wit! Good going!

It was so good to see the review of the book of my favourite writer, Jeffrey Archer’s A Prisoner of Birth, in last week’s edition (28 July). I think book reviews should be a regular part of the magazine, and reviews of classics should also feature in Us to cultivate the love of reading classics in readers. Ed, reading is becoming an obsolete habit in people my age; they prefer podcasts and I don’t have any problem with that. My point is that books cannot be replaced by anything and young people should be exposed to good books, so they can realise the beauty of reading good books. That is where reviews of good books come in.
