OTT platform Netflix has banned the password sharing in more than 100 countries including the US reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Thursday.
Netflix has warned the users that their accounts cannot be transferred to anyone outside the household and one account can only be used in one household.
The streaming video company said it is now sending emails regarding account sharing to users in France, Germany, Australia, Singapore, Mexico and Brazil.
According to the details, access to the OTT platform from any other location will charge an additional fee.
Netflix had estimated that more than 100 million households have shared their passwords with friends and by the end of March, Netflix had 23.25 million paid subscribers globally.
Netflix password sharing crackdown had started in few countries earlier this year in February in several countries including Canada, New Zealand, Portugal and Spain.
